As many of our guests have discovered, there is elbow room galore at the Breakers. On our 24 acres of beachfront parkland you will find wide open spaces filled with green grass and blue sky. Our trails through the dunes lead to 28 miles of beautiful sand beach and just in front of the Breakers is a monument honoring the Lewis and Clark visit of 1805.

The Breakers is ideally located on the Long Bach Peninsula. Many enjoy the quiet atmosphere of our beach and yet are able to visit downtown Long Beach by car (5 minutes), by bicycle (15 minutes), or by foot (30 minutes). Lewis and Clark’s Discovery Trail ends on our property and is popular with walkers, joggers and bicyclists. It is paved to Long Beach and passes by several interesting Lewis and Clark monuments while winding through the beach dunes.

This ruffled grouse visited us one day and became quite tame. It was a favorite with Breakers’ guests before heading for greener pastures
