BreakersLongBeach.com - Tree Cam

On November 19th, 1805, William Clark and 18 men visited the site that the Breakers now occupies. This was the end of his epic voyage and the end of the Lewis and Clark Trail. His journal records that he carved his initials and date on a tree before returning to the base camp in Ilwaco. To commemorate this event, the City of Long Beach commissioned a 20-foot bronze statue of this windswept tree to be installed at the edge of the beach in front of the Breakers. Clark's Tree is now in place and can be viewed through our web cam. The City also extended the 'Discovery Trail' from central Long Beach to the tree. Eventually this trail will cover the full 8 miles of Clark's path from Ilwaco to the Breakers.
